To Not Conform
Wrongly accused prisoner of war
They fought for wasn’t true
Pecking away more and more
But she was fighting too
Decidedly impatient
Wouldn’t let them sense her ire
Remained blatantly unfazed
And churned out her desires
When they surrounded her with pitchforks
They claw at her, irate
She was allegedly susceptible
But she stomped right through their gate
She was sharper than they thought
Oh, the tricks she had up her sleeve
Never would she be caught
Wouldn’t let them make her leave
They wanted so badly for her to fail
She only tilted her chin high
In every instance she would prevail
Grit her teeth and never cry
Their egos prevented them from bowing down
Knowing she soared far above the crew
Her shrewdness known throughout the town
But they were just like me and you
Their disapproval had stung a bit, this she cannot lie
But their countless absurd claims, those she did deny
Their falsehoods instated each day in Hell
They were only smiled at
The Queen Fool was under their spell
And nodded from where she sat
Rebuffing her valid complaints
She screeched, for her cries weren't heard
She soon felt very faint
But they wouldn't say a word
How long will they rest in their bed of scams?
So large, so glaring, so vile
Say I’m not worth much, but indeed I am!
And I have been all the while
Perverse she truly isn’t, but shrewdness she has got
Her heart may be heavy, but remorseful she was not
They fought for wasn’t true
Pecking away more and more
But she was fighting too
Decidedly impatient
Wouldn’t let them sense her ire
Remained blatantly unfazed
