I want to write a novel about strippers and hookers someday. Something that really shakes people up and puts sex workers in a different light. I am profoundly fascinated by prostitution and the sex industry! Everything under that umbrella. Or allegedly controversial subjects as well. Perhaps I'll throw in some religion there as well. I do have a brilliant idea for a TV show though, but it would probably have to be either on HBO or Showtime because it will be wildly raunchy, racy and risque. R cubed. My three favorite Rs. I'm contemplating making it a novel/novella first given that's what's truly up my alley, and always will be.

Anyway it's about the Cross family who is in the sex industry. The father is the founder and CEO of one of the biggest adult film and sex toy emporiums in the nation and his wife is a sexologist and sex therapist, and a sex self-help author. Their goal in life is to reinvent the sex industry, to feminize it, sophisticate it, and to rid it of it's horrendously negative connotations. Their children, a rowdy and opinionated lesbian upperclassman in high school, and a ponderous, stoic middle schooler misfit are somewhat ashamed of their parents' careers, even in spite of their obvious affluence. The Crosses are also Catholic and find it rather difficult to balance their scandalous, sex-oriented lifestyles that others in their town pass incessant judgment on with their churchgoing. After all, how do you maintain a balance between sex, scandal and stigmas and a Catholic faith...and Catholic guilt?
