Terrible, tragic, traumatic things may happen to a friendship. But if it can withstand it all, then you damn well know you've got one solid, long-lasting, forever kind of bond that cannot be broken. And sooner or later you are grateful for all of the despair, because you will quickly realize it has made your friendship far deeper, more profound, and trust and love continues to build and build.
